Iran-backed Houthis arrest two Yemen's GPS leaders in Sanaa

The Iran-backed Houthis arrested two leaders of the General People's Congress Party (GPS) on Wednesday, from one of the streets of Yemen's Sanaa and took them to one of their prisons.

Houthi elements arrested the leaders, Ameen Rajeh, and Dr. Saeed Al-Ghulaisi. A local source told Khabar Agency.

The arrest, which came amid increasing security tension, reflects the Houthis' fears of growing popular opposition as the anniversary of September 26 revolution approaches, which overthrew the imamate rule in Yemen in 1962.
