Houthi member rapes a 9-year-old girl in Yemen's Sanaa

A Houthi member has committed the crime of raping a nine-year-old girl south of Yemen's Sanaa province.

The father of the victim girl, Taher Abdulwahid Al-Syaghi, said on Thursday in a video circulating on social media that his daughter, Jannat, was raped a few days ago in the Sanhan directorate by a member of the Houthi militia named Ahmed Hussein Nejad (29 years old).

The perpetrator took the girl from her house by force, closed her mouth, and then raped her. Nejad admitted to committing the crime. The father said.

Al-Syaghi added that Houthi leaders are exerting strong pressure on him to marry the girl to the perpetrator, explaining that the case has reached the prosecutor's office, but it is being manipulated under pressure from Houthi leaders.

Al-Syaghi emphasized his rejection of any attempt to downplay the issue, urging all Yemenis to stand in solidarity with him to seek justice for his daughter from the perpetrator, demanding that he receive punishment for his crime.

Recently, there has been a significant increase in child rape crimes in areas under the control of the Houthis, most of which are committed by leaders and members of the militia. These serious and systematic crimes committed by the Iran-backed group against children amount to war crimes.
