Conflicts within Iran-backed Houthis reach their leader intelligence apparatus: Exclusive

Conflicts within the leaders of the first row of the Iran-backed Houthis have been intensified, after sharp disputes over financial levies, overlapping in tasks, and an attempt to impose the control of one wing over another, amid assassinations and between Houthi leaders from Sanaa and leaders from Saada.

Well-informed security and intelligence sources told Khabar Agency, that sharp disputes erupted between one of the leaders of the so-called Preventive Security (an intelligence service for the office of AbdulMalik Al Houthi) on the one hand, and the leadership of the Security and Intelligence Service (formerly Political Security and National Security), against the background of the former's attempt to take suspects from security and intelligence prisons by force.

Clashes took place between the escorts of the leader in the Preventive Security and the guards of the security and intelligence in the yard of the Political Security building, after they tried to remove the prisoners from one of the prisoner transport vehicles that were present in the building.

The sources said that the detainees were Houthi leaders belonging to the governorates of Sanaa and Dhamar, including supervisors, and among the detainees were of non-Yemeni nationalities, noting that security and intelligence officers and guards of the building surrounded the military staff of the Preventive Security and forced them to withdraw.

A prominent Houthi leader from the militia leader's office visited the building hours after the disputes, accompanied by a military force, and took the detainees to an unknown destination. The sources added.
